CREATE YOUR OWN VENICE MASK

An artistic experience, which will make you live the preparation for the Venetian Carnival! In this unforgettable activity, a venetian master artisan will explain the traditional art of making masks and their ancient history. DECORATE your mask course Your instructor will be our experienced decorator, who will teach you how to paint and decorate your own mask. The participants will choose a mask to be decorated during the course and at the end of the course, they will keep their mask as a very special souvenir to bring back home. Alternatively: Course of PRODUCTION Your instructor will explain the ancient technique of making a Venetian papier-mâché mask providing information about the use of masks in Venice during past centuries. The participants at the end of the hour will keep their mask as a very special souvenir to bring back home. CARNIVAL WALKING THEATRE SHOW

In Venice, from the mid-fifteenth century, the nobles and the wealthy would walk preceded by a servant called "Codega" equipped with a lantern to light their path in the darkness of night, who would delight them with anecdotes and stories. Today, your personal host will guide you through the maze of mystery that forms the city. A leap in the past which will inspire you to be the actors in a moving mise-en-scene and will push you to the heart of the Serenissima Republic and its Carnival. This is the way to discover the city's secrets! You will learn about Casanova and the Levantine, about the gondolier that become a priest and about the elephant that found shelter in a church. You will discover why an angel was put as a palace guardian and why the bridge between two convents was called "The Devil's Bridge", but also the secret language of fans and the legends of a number of ghosts that are said to inhabit Venice today. Through the stories of the “Codega” the visitors will be escorted to unusual and secret places, away from the chaotic hustle and bustle of Carnival, to find out some interesting facts of the history and daily life of the Serenissima Republic. CARNIVAL COTILLON AT PALAZZO

An afternoon with friends having fun learning the basic steps of 18th-century group dances, such as minuets and cotillon, taught by our dance teachers accompanied by music of a trio of classical musicians. Hot chocolate and Venetian pastries will be served in the historic Palazzo Dandolo, located near the Harry's Bar and St. Mark's Square. CARNIVAL DANCING CHOCOLATE - Hot chocolate and Venetian biscuits

Dancing Chocolate Enjoy carnival dances in one of most suggestive place of Venice, from few steps to St. Mark! The sweet event of the Venice Carnival in Costume held in a typical Venetian campiello (small square), covered by a glass rooftop, of the Hotel Splendid Venice. The guests will enjoy hot chocolate and Venetian biscuits in a festive atmosphere. A classical trio will accompany the Dance Master and his partner during their dance lesson. The guests will learn the basic steps of period dances and take home with them an unforgettable experience. VIVALDI E MOZART IN ST. MARK'S SQUARE

Concert of Vivaldi and Mozart in St.Mark's Square! Unique pieces, not mass produced. Green Category: more elaborate costumes inspired by the European style of the 18th and 19th centuries with delicate fabrics and sophisticated lace edging. Unique pieces not mass produced. Red Category: period costumes, top quality, inspired by the aristocratic European style of the 18th and 19th centuries, with high quality fabric, embroidery and detailing. Exclusive pieces recently added to the studio’s collection. During Venice Carnival the Atelier Tiepolo (costume production and rental services) will be based at the Hotel Danieli from Friday 17 to Tuesday 28 February 2017, open from 10am till 8pm. There you will find a large selection of top quality costumes (in silk and cotton, sewn by hand), wigs, masks, hats, shoes, capes and other accessories for sale and rent. Women’s costume hire includes: the costume as well as all the essential accessories (petticoats, skirts and corsets) and all the accessories that make the costume (bags, necklaces, pins). All the other accessories such as hats, masks, capes, wigs etc. are sold separately and are optional, with prices varying according to the item. Men’s costume hire includes: the costume as well as all the necessary accessories (shirt, crop, tights and shoe ribbons).
