Carnival 2020, Cotillon at Palazzo
An afternoon with friends having fun learning the basic steps of 18th-century group dances, such as minuets and cotillon, taught by our dance professional Masters accompanied by music of a trio of classical musicians. Hot chocolate and Venetian pastries will be served in the historic Palazzo Dandolo, located near the Harry’s Bar and St. Mark’s Square.
Short historical excursus on the location you will spend a magical evening
The hall of the Ridotto has an extraordinary rich history. It was the first place in Venice and in the world to accomodate gambling rooms openly. The young Casanova danced here and used this breath-taking place as a set for his conquests. After the second world war this space becomes the first dancing hall in Venice and after that an important theatre. Nowadays, the Ridotto Hall where the Carnival Ball will take place belongs to the Hotel Monaco & Grand Canal Hotel and gives you a stunning view on the Grand Canal.
What do you have to expect from the soiree
The magical Carnival Afternoon located in the heart of Venice will involve you in the pleasure of XVIII century Cotillon. You will have a leading role in the dance- game, with the faculty to attract the attantion of the desired gorgeous Noble dancer just in front of you. Suddenly, you are dancing together.. A delicious hot chocolate is already waiting for you and your dancing partner !
Carnival Period Costume
The Carnival Period Costume is Compulsory to attend the ball. Have a look on the professional Venetian Atelier proposals. Respect the Dress Code and find your perfect outfit for the special Carnival occasion!
